Built in a Basement. Because We Needed It.

My dad has been wrenching on engines his whole life. For years he kept running into the same wall — you don't know if it's the spark plug until you've already pulled half the engine apart. One too many wasted Saturdays and he decided to fix that.

TruSpark Pro is microcontroller-based running proprietary firmware to determine if your spark plug has high voltage present and if spark has occured. No electrical contact needed. You only need to hold TruSpark near the spark plug boot and crank the engine.

We're two guys from Ontario. We hand-solder every unit in our shop — not in a factory, not overseas. Us. And we test every single one before it ships.

If It Has a Spark Plug Boot, TruSpark Works On It

Motorcycles — ATVs and UTVs — Snowmobiles — Lawn mowers and riding mowers — Generators — Boats and marine engines — Small engines of all kinds.

If it ignites with a spark, we can tell you whether that spark is actually happening.

How To Use It

1. Press the power button — green light means you're good to go
2. Hold TruSpark near the spark plug boot (no contact needed)
3. Have someone crank the engine, or use the starter
4. Read the lights

Red + Blue flashing — Ignition is working. Your problem is somewhere else. Check fuel or air.
Red only — Voltage is there but the plug isn't firing. Replace the plug.
No lights from the engine — No power reaching the plug. Look upstream at your ignition system.

If you've never diagnosed an engine before, you just did.

How It's Made

Every TruSpark is built by hand. Here's what that actually looks like.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does truspark do?
It tells you whether high voltage is reaching your spark plug (red light) and whether the plug is actually firing (blue light). this lets you instantly determine if your no-start problem is electrical, the spark plug itself, or fuel and air related — without touching a single wire.
What engines does it work on?
Any gas-powered engine with a spark plug. motorcycles, atvs, snowmobiles, lawn mowers, riding mowers, generators, boats, and any small engine.
Is my engine compatible with truspark?
Truspark works on any engine with a traditional spark plug boot and visible plug wire. this includes most motorcycles, harleys, atvs, snowmobiles, lawn mowers, generators, boats, and older vehicles. it is not compatible with coil-on-plug (cop) ignition systems where the coil sits directly on top of the spark plug with no plug wire. most modern cars and trucks built after 2005 use cop systems. if you are unsure email us at contact@truspark.ca before purchasing.
Do i need to connect anything to the engine?
No. truspark is completely wireless. no clips, no leads, no grounding required. turn it on and hold it near the spark plug boot.
What do the indicator lights mean?
Green — device is powered on and ready. red — high voltage is present at the spark plug. blue — the spark plug is confirmed firing.
Is it safe to use around high voltage ignition systems?
Yes. truspark detects high voltage without making any direct electrical contact. you stay safely away from live components at all times.
How is truspark powered?
Built-in lithium polymer rechargeable battery — no aa batteries, nothing to buy. we charge every unit fully before it ships, so it’s ready to use right out of the box. a free usb charging cable is included in every order just in case.
How long does the battery last?
A lot longer than you’d expect. truspark is only used in short bursts during diagnosis, not run continuously, so the battery is estimated to last anywhere from 1 to 5 years or more on a single charge. realistically, most customers will likely never need to charge it again. the usb cable we include is more of a precaution than a necessity.
Can someone with no mechanical experience use it?
Absolutely. one button, three lights. if you can read green, red, and blue, you can diagnose an engine with truspark.
What’s included in the box?
Truspark pro device and usb charging cable.
